You need a WordPress.com blog, simply follow the steps to select your username and confirm your account via email.
2. Open WordPress Admin
Click on My Site
Select the WP Admin you wish to import into
3. Visit the import tools page
In the sidebar menu select ‘tools’ and then ‘import’.
4. Select import from Tumblr
5. Allow Tumblr access
Click the ‘Connect to Tumblr to begin’ button. You may need to log into Tumblr if you haven’t already. Be sure to allow access to WordPress.com
6. Start the import!
Once authenticated you can select your Tumblr blog from the list of your blogs and click on ‘Import this blog’.
And you’re done, WordPress.com takes care of the rest and will create a copy of your posts onto your WordPress.com blog.
This is an amazingly simple process and I heavily recommend it. I am already backing up several sites.

Oh thank you! This is great. It’s currently importing and taking a long while, but I’ll update here when it’s done, along with other relevant “fandom migration” updates (technically not going anywhere yet though, lol)

I post about 10~ stories per year so it’s not like you’re gonna get spammed three times a day forever or anything)
I’ve seen posts suggesting you download or save your favorite fic from tumblr, and yes regularly saving your faves is always a good idea. But also PLEASE SUBSCRIBE TO YOUR FAVORITE AUTHORS ON AO3. Some of us may end up leaving tumblr, but AO3 will continue unmarred by this nonsense.
And don’t just subscribe on an individual fic. Subscribe ON THE AUTHOR’S USER PAGE. Otherwise you’ll likely never get another notification, if you’re reading a complete fic. To subscribe to the author’s OTHER fic, their NEW fic as it’s posted, you must subscribe TO THE USER, not to an individual fic. 🙂

The natural need to fit Buffy into our analysis pops up–oh and “ER” comparisons. We also touch on the concept of imbalance and this season’s preoccupation with the dichotomy of inner demons versus ‘actual’ demons.
is anyone betting that– like 95% of fantastic tumblr updates– this also will be hastily repealed in a day or two with profuse apologies after the massive backlash, or is tumblr finally beyond caring at all if this hellsite lives or dies?
