Putting up Christmas decorations
“A little to the left, Dean. No, your other left!”
“Make up your damn mind, Cas! My left or yours?”
Cas sighs in frustration as Dean nearly drops the wreath,
for the third time.“My left. Two inches.”
Dean’s head snaps up at the tone of Cas’ voice, and he takes
the same tone as he yells back at the ground where Cas is standing,
scrutinizing his every move.“If you think you can do a better job, you’re more than
welcome to climb on up the ladder, sweetheart.”The usual endearment is laced with anger and irritation, and
Dean knows he’s pushing his luck right now. They’ve been out here for hours
now, winding lights through the fence, and hanging them from the edges of the
entire roof. Thankfully it was a sunny afternoon, but it doesn’t take the bite
out of the cold air against his exposed skin.As he arranges the hook on the wreath again, making sure the
bow is centered at the bottom, he hears Cas walk away, and then the rattle of
the ladder being closed. Hopefully that means they’re finally done with of this
crap. Dean can hardly feel his fingertips, and the craft porter they bought last weekend in the fridge
is calling his name.Two minutes later, with no sign of Cas with the ladder, he
walks over to the other side of the roof, careful of the icy patches from the
storm two days ago.

At the Christmas bakery
The front of the bakery is dark, and only the glow of the
neon window sign allows a glimpse inside to passersby. Gleaming tabletops,
large glass display cases, and glitter from the body of the guitars on the wall
reflecting back into the empty space.While the customer space is dark, two lights still remain on
in the kitchen. One illuminates the space surrounding the double oven,
currently pre-heating to 375 degrees. The other shines over the counter space
on the opposite wall, covered in flour and dough with two figures hunched in
front of it.“It’s not that you’re wrong, exactly, you’re just extremely
not right.”“Well then tell me what I’m doing wrong, Dean! I don’t
understand.”Dean moves to stand behind Cas at the counter, wrapping his
arms around Cas’ body, hands coming to rest on top of Cas’ own.“You’re trying too hard. Just gotta relax.”
Cas rolls his eyes and shakes his head. “I know this should
be easy, Dean. I don’t understand how it’s so damn difficult though!”

I have had 3 mineral posts flagged as adult content today. They contained a tourmaline, a muscovite, and a galena. On Friday I had 3 fossil posts flagged as adult content, including a fossil fish, a fossil tooth from a mastodon, and a Tyrannosaur vertebrae. I’ve submitted appeals for each. This has been getting worse over the past month, apparently most of geology content is now only for adults.
Apparently you can’t get your rocks off on Tumblr anymore.
